Vidyalaya Vani was implemented with an aim to develop proficiency in language and improve public speaking and communication skills. It also provide a platform for showcasing creative talents of children. The existing Public Address system is utilised for the purpose. A schedule was prepared for the radio show. The project started with class eleven presenting an informative programme on the use of idioms in English, Recitation of poems and a paper presentation regarding the formation of halo round the sun. In the days that followed a variety of programmes like success mantras, Home remedies, Career guidance, story telling, learn to pronounce, This Day in History and book reviews were presented.

It was noticed that the sense of belongingness among the students was dwindling day by day .The need to inculcate self-discipline and the sense of belongingness within their immediate environment was felt. The idea was put forward for open discussion in the general Staff Meeting. The suggestions given by the teachers were considered and a Plan of Action was outlined by the Teacher in Charge of the Project.

In the present scenario, the students are drifting away from the values and tradition that they have to imbibe as the future citizens of a nation rich in tradition and culture. The need to make the students self-disciplined and self-reliant in all the walks of life was felt. A plan was chalked out, covering almost all the aspects related to student life. This Project was put into action in the previous Academic Session (2014-15) and has been continued in this Session also.
LIBRARY POINTS – REWARDING THE READERS

A system of awarding Library Points to reward the readers for their reading and library related activities was introduced in as the first step towards motivating the students to read. Prior to this, the students were not bothered about the quantity or quality of the library resources they have utilized. The User of the Month (Monthly), Reading Achievement Awards (Annual), the Best User Awards (Annual) and the Class of Readers Award (Annual) distributed during the previous year have found to be made and impact among the students and we wanted to retain the interest so generated. Also there should be a quantitative fool proof method which is transparent for selecting the User of the Month and the Reading Achievement Awards.

The seed club f Kendriya Vidyalaya Kanjikode was formed in the month of July 2015, as a part of the initiative to make the campus clean and green and also to instill in the students the sense of cleanliness and conservation. It is a venture coined by the Mathrubhumi Daily.
